This AAA tour was of the famous Griffin Houses in Castlecrag.
The Castlecrag Griffin Houses, designed by Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin, are a collection of twelve homes located in the Sydney suburb of Castlecrag.
Built between 1920 and 1935, these houses reflect the Griffins’ vision for community and environmental harmony. The design emphasized the preservation of the natural topography, particularly the area’s rocky sandstone outcrops.
The Griffins’ work, informed by their theosophical beliefs, sought to integrate architecture with the landscape, enhancing both the aesthetic and social qualities of the area.
