David McCrae is running for NSW Chapter President for the AIA.
Following Adam Haddow’s election as the 2024-25 National President-elect in the AIA, a by-election is required for the NSW Chapter President position. Nominations closed on July 1, 2024, at 9:00 am, resulting in two fully supported candidates, including our principal, David McCrae.
With over 35 years of diverse architectural experience, David McCrae has served as an active Chapter Councillor since February 2023. He passionately advocates for small and lesser-known architectural firms, supports AIA initiatives, and promotes architectural education and public awareness.
David’s priorities include increasing and retaining membership, fostering gender equity and diversity, advocating for mental health awareness, Indigenous representation, climate action, and relevant professional development opportunities. He aims to enhance services for sole practitioners and small practices, ensuring inclusivity and support within the Institute.
The ballot is open to all NSW Institute members, starting at 9:00 am on July 2, 2024.
Voting closes strictly at 9:00 am AEST on July 22, 2024.
