Karen McCartney @ Mark Tuckey

Karen McCartney, the founding editor of Inside Out interiors magazine, has curated a book documenting a collection of notable Australian houses from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.

Each home is exquisitely photographed and presented with unprecedented depth. Architects featured include Richard Leplastrier, Glenn Murcutt, and Wood Marsh.

The book opens with a detailed introduction that places these decades in their social, historical, and architectural contexts, followed by individual reviews of each selected house.

McCartney conducted interviews with numerous architects and owners, providing personal insights into each project.

Each study also highlights interior decoration and discusses iconic furniture, fittings, and fabric designers and manufacturers.
