Following Adam Haddow’s election as the 2024-25 National President-elect in the AIA, a by-election was held for the NSW Chapter President position. We are happy to announce that Elizabeth Carpenter has been elected as the new NSW Chapter President for the AIA. Her dedication and vision have clearly resonated with the community, and we look forward to the incredible work she will bring to the table.
David McCrae, our principal, has over 35 years of diverse architectural experience and has served as an active Chapter Councillor since February 2023. Throughout the campaign, David passionately advocated for small and lesser-known architectural firms, supported AIA initiatives, and promoted architectural education and public awareness.
David’s priorities included increasing and retaining membership, fostering gender equity and diversity, advocating for mental health awareness, Indigenous representation, climate action, and providing relevant professional development opportunities. He aimed to enhance services for sole practitioners and small practices, ensuring inclusivity and support within the Institute.
While David is proud of the work accomplished, he is confident that Elizabeth Carpenter will continue to drive positive change and growth within the architectural community.
We are excited for new beginnings and continued progress for everyone involved.
