M+M Architects recently completed this modern luxury in suburban Crows Nest.
This project revitalised a single-fronted brick house in Crows Nest into a luxury modern home. This house now has three street frontages, driven by the owners’ desire for increased space and sunlight, particularly to combat the cold and dark ambiance of the South-facing living room.
Preserving the charm of the original structure was paramount for our architects. They skillfully integrated new facilities such as a bathroom, WC, and laundry, ensuring a seamless blend with the existing architecture. This strategic addition not only modernized the home but also optimized natural light intake through strategically positioned East, North, and West-facing windows in the rear kitchen, dining, and living areas. The result is an inviting interior flooded with natural light and boasting an airy atmosphere that enhances daily living.
Privacy and accessibility were meticulously addressed with the addition of a well-designed courtyard and a formalized parking area featuring recycled bricks, highlighting both functionality and sustainability. The kitchen is a standout feature with its elegant use of FENIX, a cutting-edge matte surface technology in sleek black, offering durability and contemporary style in perfect harmony.
The owners’ bold choice of colors and textures infuses the space with an industrial-inspired aesthetic that seamlessly blends minimalism with innovative design elements. This project exemplifies the seamless integration of functionality and aesthetic appeal, transforming the residence into a modern sanctuary that radiates sophistication and charm.
M+M Architect’s have turned this Crows Nest house into a modern luxury, not only meeting practical needs for space and light but also enhancing the home’s overall visual appeal with high-quality materials and thoughtful design solutions. It stands as a testament to their expertise in transforming ordinary spaces into extraordinary living environments that effortlessly blend comfort, style, and functionality.
