Every now and then, something happens that reminds us why we do what we do.
Recently, we received a thoughtful message from the new owner of one of our earlier projects in Crows Nest. It’s not every day that an architect hears directly from a future custodian of their work – let alone one who also works within the design and engineering community. The message came from the former owner and director of Partridge Engineering Consultants, who reached out after seeing our post about the project.
He shared that he and his wife are now the proud owners of the home, sold by Peter Chauncy of McGrath Real Estate Agents. Andrew took the time to express his appreciation for the design and the craftsmanship behind it, and his words reminded us how connected our industry truly is.
Knowing that a fellow designer has found joy and value in a home we created years ago is incredibly rewarding.
He also shared his thoughts on the importance of recognition within our industry – supporting the idea behind #namethearchitect, which encourages crediting the designers behind each project. In the same spirit, he suggested we also #nametheengineer, recognising the structural ingenuity that helps bring every design to life. After all, architecture is always a collaboration, and it’s the combined expertise of so many that allows a project to truly shine.
