M+M Architects transformed this once cold, dark home on North Curl Curl’s Western Hill into a warm, light-filled family retreat.

The renovation began by excavating basement rock to lower the floor and install a polished concrete slab. New external walls and perimeter drainage improved both moisture control and structural integrity. Large catch sliders along the northern side now flood the home with natural light and connect effortlessly to a new timber deck, complete with a daybed and retaining wall.

Inside, the redesigned layout flows naturally from the front kitchen to a spacious family room, enhancing sun access, space, and thermal comfort.

This renovation is a celebration of coastal living – functional, relaxed, and full of light.
